Scenario:

Mailbox Migrations: –

You are trying to migrate a mailbox from a remote site that has Exchange 2007/2010 to another site that has Exchange 2007/2010 and you run the move from the Exchange 2013 EAC (Exchange Admin Center) or the EMS (Exchange Management Shell) and the moves fail within the first few minutes with the following error:

“MigrationPermanentException: The Mailbox database “Mailbox Database” is not the same version as the cmdlet. –> The Mailbox database “Mailbox Database” is not the same version as the cmdlet.”

Trying the move again just fails.

Exchange 2013: mailbox migration error - exchange 2007/2010 to exchange 2007/2010
Exchange 2013: Mailbox Migration error - Exchange 2007/2010 to Exchange 2007/2010 1

Solution:

Start the migrations from a Exchange 2007/2010 Server to another Exchange 2007/2010 instead of trying the move from a Exchange 2013 Server.

Hope it helps.
